Things You'll Need

  • Cloth or towel
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Dish soap
  • Mild laundry detergent

Step 1: Blot the Tape Stain

Lay a cloth or a towel over the tape stain to prevent the stain from spreading any further. Gently press cloth onto the tape stain to absorb as much of the stain as possible.

Step 2: Moisten Stain

Using a dropper, carefully drop rubbing alcohol onto the tape stain until it is well saturated. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit on stain for a few minutes before moving onto the next step.

Step 3: Scrub the Stain

Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub the tape stain in a circular motion. Be sure to apply gentle pressure, as too much pressure may cause stain to spread further and damage the material.

Step 4: Rinse with Soap

Once the tape stain has been scrubbed, rinse it with a mild dish soap and warm water. Again, be sure to use a delicate motion when wiping down the shoe.

Step 5: Wash with Detergent

Next, fill a basin or bucket with warm water and a mild laundry detergent. Place the stained area of the shoe into the basin and let it soak for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove shoe and allow it to air dry.
