What You Will Need to Clean Adhesive Tape Stains from Silk Organza
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- Soft cloth
- Spot cleaning product, such as a carpet cleaner or stain remover.
Instructions
To remove adhesive tape stains from silk organza fabric:
- Lift away any pieces of tape that are still on the fabric. Use a vacuum cleaner with a wand attachment to help reach all the pieces.
- Mix together a solution of one part white vinegar and one part dish soap. This will create a mild cleaning solution.
- Test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before proceeding. If the solution does not damage the fabric, moisten a soft cloth with solution and dab it onto the stained fabric. Gently rub in a circular motion and continue until you have reached the centre of the stain.
- If stain is still visible, use a spot-cleaning product designed for carpets or fabrics. Follow the instructions on the product and take care not to damage the fabric.
- Finally, rinse the fabric with cold water. Hang dry or press with an iron set on low heat.
Tips
- Make sure not to scrub the fabric or rub too hard, as this can cause further damage to the fabric.
- Always read the care labels for the fabric before attempting to clean adhesive tape stains.
- If the stain persists, take the fabric to a professional dry cleaner.
