When tape residue gets left behind on your favourite purse, it can feel like the end of the world. No one wants a stained bag, but luckily removing it doesn’t have to be difficult—even when it’s been there for a while.

To start, isolate the stained area as much as possible and then dampen it with lukewarm water. Put a few drops directly on the purse, and rub gently in a circular motion until the surface of the purse is moist.

To help break up and lift the adhesive residue, make a paste using 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water. Apply the paste directly on the tape stain, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before scrubbing it off. A soft cloth or an old toothbrush can be used to do this. It’s important to not use any abrasive materials as they may cause damage to the purse.

After the paste is removed and the stain is gone, rinse off the paste with lukewarm water and let purse air dry. If there is still some residue left, try wiping the area with white vinegar or lemon juice, let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse. Repeat this process until the tape stain is completely gone.

It’s always a good idea to do a spot test with whatever cleaning solution you are using to make sure it won’t cause damage to the fabric of your purse.

By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to remove even toughest of tape stains, and keep your purse looking good as new.
