1. Start by rubbing stained area of the pillow with a clean rag soaked in lukewarm water. This should help loosen up any residue and make it easier to remove.
2. If the stain still remains, try dabbing the area with rubbing alcohol using a fresh cloth. The alcohol should be able to dissolve adhesive without damaging the fabric.
3. If the above two steps don't work, mix together equal parts dish soap and hot water and apply it to the stain. Gently rub the area with a soft brush or sponge, then rinse with lukewarm water.
4. If all else fails, it may be time to reach for a commercial adhesive remover. Make sure to follow the instructions on the packaging and test it on an inconspicuous area of pillow first.
5. To make sure the stain is fully removed, wash the pillow with a mild detergent according to the care instructions, then let it air dry.
