Start by filling a bucket with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Take your rag or sponge and dip it in the soapy water. Gently scrub the spot with the wet rag, making sure to get it nice and wet. For stubborn adhesive spots, you may need to use a scraper or putty knife to help loosen things up. Be careful not to gouge or scratch the material.
Once the adhesive has been loosened, take a dry rag and wipe away the sudsy residue. Rinse the area with a damp rag or sponge. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue. Allow it to dry completely before proceeding.
If adhesive is still present after following steps one and two, try an oil treatment. Use a rag or cotton swab to apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the affected area. Allow it to sit for five minutes and then wipe away the oil with a dry rag.
Once the adhesive is removed, it is important to clean and maintain the surface regularly. Regularly sweep and vacuum paver and concrete surfaces and apply a sealer if necessary. It is also important to keep them free of debris and dirt as this can attract pests and negatively affect the longevity of the surface.
