Step 1: Gather the materials

Before you start cleaning, make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. You will need:

  • Cleaning solution.
  • Paper towels (or cloth).
  • Vinyl adhesive remover.
  • Soft-bristled brush.

Step 2: Test for colorfastness

Always test your cleaning product before using it on your leather surface. Test a small area with cleaning solution on an inconspicuous part to make sure it won’t cause any damage.

Step 3: Prep the area

Once you have tested that the leather is colorfast, you can begin to clean the adhesive tape stain. First, use a paper towel or cloth to blot away any excess residue. Do not rub the area.

Step 4: Apply the cleaning solution

Next, apply some cleaning solution to a paper towel or cloth, and gently wipe the area in a circular motion. Wipe until all of the adhesive tape is removed.

Step 5: Use a soft-bristled brush

If there are any tough stains remaining, you should then use a soft-bristled brush to scrub them away. Be sure to use gentle, circular motions to avoid damaging your leather surface.

Step 6: Use vinyl adhesive remover

If stubborn residue still remains, use a vinyl adhesive remover to remove it. Apply it directly to stain and wipe with a damp cloth until you can no longer see the stain.

Congratulations! All done!

Once the adhesive tape has been completely removed from your leather surface, you can stand back and admire your handiwork.
