Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Before you begin treating the stain, it is important to pre-treat it. Use a pre-treatment product such as a liquid laundry detergent or a stain remover specifically formulated for removing adhesive tape stains. Apply the pre-treatment to stained area and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2: Rinse with Cold Water

Once you have applied the pre-treatment, rinse the area with cold water. This will help to remove any excess adhesive residue that may have been left behind.

Step 3: Wash in Hot Water

Once the pre-treatment has been rinsed away, launder the jeans in hot water. If possible, use a color safe bleach along with your detergent. Make sure to read the care label on the jeans before laundering. Air dry or tumble dry on low.

Step 4: Use Rubbing Alcohol

If the stain remains after washing, rub some rubbing alcohol onto the area with a clean cloth. Let the alcohol sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

Step 5: Use Baking Soda Paste

If the stain still remains after using rubbing alcohol, mix a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse off with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

Step 6: Check the Stain

Once you have tried all of these methods, check the stain. If the adhesive tape stain is still visible, reapply the pre-treatment and launder again. If the stain remains, you may need to take the jeans to a professional dry cleaner.
