Getting Started

  • Gather all the supplies you will need: a bowl, dish soap, laundry detergent, white vinegar, a soft-bristled brush, and a cloth.
  • Dampen the stained area of the jacket with warm water.
  • Mix a solution of detergent and water in a bowl.
  • Pour some of solution onto the stained area and scrub gently with the brush. Do not scrub too hard, as this could damage fabric.
  • Rinse the jacket with warm water.
  • Create another solution with equal parts white vinegar and water.
  • Using the cloth, sponge the vinegar solution onto stain.
  • Rinse away the vinegar and water solution with clean water.
  • Launder jacket in the washing machine using regular laundry detergent.

Additional Tips

  • If the adhesive tape stain is still present after trying these steps, then you may need to use a stain removal product specifically designed for adhesive tape stains.
  • Be sure to read the garment care label before attempting any of these steps, as some fabrics may require special care.
  • After laundering jacket, air dry it or tumble dry on a low heat setting.
  • If the stain persists, take the jacket to a professional cleaner.
