If you find some sticky adhesive tape stuck to your headphones, don’t be tempted to just pull it off. Doing so may end up damaging your headphones or leaving a mark. Instead, try these 4 simple steps to get rid of the tape without leaving any stains.
The first step is to prepare the headphones for cleaning. Start by placing them in a shallow container filled with lukewarm water. Any detergent can be added, but mild detergents are preferable. Let the headphones sit in the water for around 10 minutes to soften the adhesive.
Once they are ready, take a soft cloth and gently start rubbing away the adhesive tape. Make sure you don’t use too much force when wiping as this will damage headphones. Focus on wiping away the adhesive with light strokes. A toothbrush can also be used to help remove the tape residue.
After all the adhesive tape has been removed, it is time to give the headphones a good soak and rinse. Fill up another container with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild detergent. Submerge the headphones in the solution and let them soak for around 15 minutes. Once done, take out the headphones and give them a thorough rinse. Don’t forget to clean the headband and earcups as well.
Finally, place the headphones on a towel and let them air dry. If needed, you can carefully pat the headphones with a dry cloth to absorb the excess moisture. Once the headphones are completely dry, put them on and enjoy your tunes!
