Adhesive tape residue can leave an unpleasant discoloration on grills over time. Fortunately, there are some easy steps you can take in order to restore it back to its former glory. In this article, we’ll look at how to use everyday items to clean grids that have adhesive tape residue.

Step 1: Gather Your Cleaning Supplies

To remove adhesive tape stains from grills, you’ll need the following supplies: warm water, dish soap, baking soda, a soft rag, a plastic scrubbing brush, and an abrasive sponge or steel wool.

Step 2: Rinse the Grill and Remove Loose Debris

Start by using the soft rag to wipe off any loose debris and dirt from the grates. Next, fill a bucket or sink with warm soapy water and submerge the grill grates in the solution. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Use Baking Soda and a Plastic Scrub Brush to Scrub Away Stains

After 10 minutes, take the grates out of the soapy water and use the plastic scrub brush to scrub away any remaining residue. Make sure to focus on any areas that still have adhesive tape stains. You can also use baking soda to create a paste which will help to absorb any oils and grease.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Once you’ve removed all of the residue and the grates look shiny and unscratched, rinse them off with warm water. Then, use a paper towel or cloth to dry them off completely. For best results, leave them to air dry.

Step 5: Put the Grill Back Together

Finally, reassemble the grill and replace any parts that you had to remove during the cleaning process. Now your grill is ready to use.
