Start by using a vacuum cleaner with an attachment that has bristles or a brush to gently loosen the particles of adhesive tape from the upholstery. Use it in a circular motion over the area to loosen the dry particles. Next, use a damp cloth or sponge to gently wipe away any remaining adhesive residue.
For wooden furniture, start by removing as much of adhesive tape residue as possible using a plastic scraper. Then, mix equal parts of white vinegar and water and use this solution to scrub off any remaining residue. Wipe off the solution with a soft cloth or towel.
For metal furniture, you can use a special metal polish such as Brasso or a rubbing compound to remove any stubborn adhesive tape stains. Gently rub the polish or compound onto the area then buff it off with a clean cloth or towel. You may need to repeat the process a few times until all the stain is removed.
