Carefully scrape away any visible residue from adhesive tape. Then take a soft-bristled brush and gently brush the stained area in a circular motion. This should help remove most of the adhesive tape residue.
Apply a dry cleaning solution to stained area, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then use a soft cloth to blot away any excess moisture from the stain.
Spray a spot cleaner onto the stained area, and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then use a soft cloth to rub the cleaner into fabric in a circular motion. This should help dissolve the adhesive tape stain and loosen any remaining residue.
Fill a spray bottle with a pre-treatment solution, and spray it onto the stained area. Wait five minutes and then rub the liquid into the fabric in a circular motion. This should help break down the adhesive residue further.
Fill a sink or bucket with cold water. Add a scoop of mild laundry detergent and mix it with the water. Submerge the shirt and let it soak for 15–20 minutes. Gently agitate the fabric while soaking to help loosen any stubborn residue. Rinse the shirt thoroughly and hang it up to air dry.
With a few minutes and some simple products from your local store, you can easily get rid of adhesive tape stains from your Fred Perry t-shirts. Keep these handy steps in mind next time you want to save a favorite shirt!
