The first step in getting rid of adhesive stains from cutting boards is to gather the necessary supplies. You'll need:
In a bowl or cup, mix equal parts baking soda and white vinegar together until you create a paste. Allow mixture to sit for several minutes before proceeding.
Using the cloth or sponge, apply the paste to the area of the cutting board that has adhesive stains. Scrub the paste in a circular motion over the adhesive until it is completely removed.
Once the paste has been applied, rinse the cutting board off with clean water. Be sure to use a soft cloth when doing so in order to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.
After rinsing, dry the cutting board off with a soft cloth. Take care not to leave any wet spots or streaks; this could lead to mold or mildew.
Lastly, if desired you can condition the cutting board with a few drops of olive oil. Rub oil into the surface, then buff it off with a clean cloth. This will help keep the cutting board in good condition.
Finally, remember to clean your cutting board regularly. Wipe it down with warm, soapy water after each use, and occasionally apply a light coat of olive oil to keep it looking its best.
With these simple steps, you can easily get rid of adhesive stains on your cutting board.
