Cotton voile is often used to wrap fragile items for shipping, however, removing the adhesive tape after can be difficult. To make sure the fabric remains intact, it's important to use the right cleaning methods.
Steps for Removing Adhesive Tape Stains from Cotton Voile
- Start by laying the stained article of clothing on a flat surface and using a blunt knife or blunt edge of a card to scrape off any excess adhesive residue.
- Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add two to three tablespoons of mild liquid detergent. Swish the solution together and submerge the voile into the mix for about five minutes.
- Gently massage stained area using your fingers for one to two minutes and rinse well.
- Treat the stained area with lemon-juice or vinegar and scrub gently with a soft brush.
- Wash the stained area in the washing machine or by hand with warm water.
- Allow the item to air-dry and check the area for any remaining stains.
Once the stain is gone, try not to use adhesive tape on cotton voile again. Instead, opt for fabric glue as it will be much easier to remove.
