Step 1: Gather Supplies

You will need following supplies to clean adhesive tape stains from cotton piqué: rubbing alcohol, lint-free cloths, white vinegar, laundry detergent, and a toothbrush.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

Soak a lint-free cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently dab the stained area. Be careful not to overdo it, as the rubbing alcohol can damage fabric if used in excess. Let the rubbing alcohol soak into the stain for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Apply Vinegar & Detergent Solution

Mix together 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent in a bowl. Dip a clean lint-free cloth into solution and gently rub it onto the stained area. Let mixture sit on the stain for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Scrub With a Toothbrush

Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, scrub the stained area in a circular motion. Be sure to use gentle pressure so as not to damage the fabric. Once the stain has been scrubbed, rinse off the mixture using cold water.

Step 5: Launder As Usual

Once stain has been removed, launder the garment as usual. Hang it up to air dry.

Conclusion

With the right supplies and a bit of elbow grease, adhesive tape stains can easily be removed from cotton piqué garments. By following the steps outlined above, you can have your garment looking as good as new in no time.
