  • Sponge or washcloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Non-gel toothpaste
  • Bowl of warm water

Steps to Remove Adhesive Tape Stains from Cotton Oxford

  1. Begin by soaking your fabric in warm water for 15 minutes.
  2. Rinse fabric with cold water and allow it to dry.
  3. Take a sponge or clean washcloth and blot the area with a mild detergent.
  4. Mix a solution of one part rubbing alcohol and one part warm water. Blot the stain with the solution.
  5. Mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Dab the stain with the solution.
  6. Take a small amount of non-gel toothpaste and spread it over the affected area. Rub the paste into the stain with a clean cloth.
  7. Allow the paste to sit for one hour before rinsing with warm water.
  8. For tough stains, repeat steps 3-7 until the stain is gone.

Tips

  • Always test a small area of your fabric before applying any solutions to ensure colours won't run.
  • Do not scrub the fabric while applying solutions as this can cause damage and further staining.
  • Avoid using hot water as this may set the stain.
  • If the stain persists, take the garment to a professional dry cleaner.
