The first step to removing adhesive tape stains from Cornelli lace is to remove any excess adhesive from the fabric. You can do this using a pair of tweezers to pull off any larger pieces of tape or by using a dull knife to gently scrape away small bits. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, or you could damage your fabric.
Once you’ve gotten rid of any excess adhesive, mix a solution of warm water and mild detergent together. This will help break up the adhesive and make it easier to remove. Once you have your solution ready, dampen a clean cloth in mixture and carefully dab the stained areas.
Using the damp cloth, gently scrub stained area of the Cornelli lace in circles, but be sure not to scrub too hard as this could damage the delicate fabric. You can also use a stiff-bristled brush to help loosen the stain. Keep scrubbing until the stain is gone or significantly lighter.
When you’re finished scrubbing, rinse fabric well with lukewarm water. Be sure to rinse both sides of the fabric to remove any remaining residue, then lay it flat on a towel to dry.
