Step 1: Apply Laundry Detergent

Start off by applying some laundry detergent directly onto the cords of the corduroy fabric. Using a soft bristled brush, rub the detergent into stained area in gentle, circular motions before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Soak the Apparel

Since adhesive tape reacts differently to different fabrics, it is advised that you soak the cloth in warm water for about an hour before continuing. This should help soften the adhesive so it is easier to remove.

Step 3: Rub with Nail Polish Remover

Once you have soaked the apparel, use a cotton ball to apply nail polish remover to affected area. The acetone present in the nail polish remover should help to loosen up the adhesive. Once you have applied the nail polish remover, let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing gently with a damp cloth before rinsing the item off with cold water.

Repeat these steps until the adhesive tape stain is removed. Afterwards, hang the item out to dry or place it in your washing machine for laundering.
