Start by Soaking

First, you’ll need to soak the board shorts in a mixture of cold water and a mild laundry detergent. Let them sit in the mixture for about 10 minutes so the adhesive can loosen. You may need to leave them for longer if there is a lot of residue.

Scrub with a Soft-Bristled Brush

Once board shorts have been soaking, take them out and use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away the stains. Make sure you’re gentle; you don’t want to damage the fabric. Use circular motions to help loosen the adhesive.

Rinse and Repeat if Needed

Once you’ve finished scrubbing, rinse the board shorts off with cool water. Check to see if all the adhesive has been removed. If not, you can repeat the process until the stains are gone.

Wash in Washing Machine

Once all the adhesive has been removed, you can throw the board shorts in the washing machine. Make sure to use a gentle cycle and cold water. Hang dry the shorts once they’re done.
