What You’ll Need

  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Liquid hand soap
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels
  • Cloth

Step 1: Test the Detergent or Soap

Before attempting to remove the adhesive tape stain from your blazer, it is important to first test the detergent or soap that you plan to use at a hidden area of your blazer for colorfastness. This will ensure that blazer won't be damaged during cleaning process.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Once you have confirmed that detergent or soap is safe to use, moisten a paper towel or soft cloth with it and dab the stained area with the pre-treated cloth. Let it soak into fabric for about 5 minutes before moving onto the next step.

Step 3: Brush and Rinse

Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub the stained area of the blazer until any remaining adhesive residue is removed. Rinse the area thoroughly with cool water and use a cloth to pat it dry. For stubborn stains, you may need to repeat this step multiple times before stain is entirely gone.

Step 4: Apply White Vinegar

If the adhesive tape stain is still visible after rinsing and brushing, apply white vinegar to it using a cloth or paper towel. Allow the vinegar to sit on stain for around 10 minutes before washing and rinsing the blazer as usual.
