Before starting the cleaning process, correctly identify the fabric of your Aline dress. This could be anything from cotton to silk, and different fabrics require different cleaning methods.
To make sure the fabric won't be treated with a chemical that it cannot handle, it is best to test it first on an unseen area. Use only a small amount of detergent and water, as it could possibly cause discoloration if there is a reaction.
In a bowl, mix a tablespoonful of mild detergent with two cups of cold water. Then, soak a white cloth in the solution, and use it to dab stained area gently.
Leave the solution on the stain for at least five minutes, then use another white cloth dipped in plain cold water to rinse the area.
If the stain still remains, repeat steps 3 and 4 until the stain is gone. Once you're done, use a clean, dry cloth to pat the area dry.
Hang the Aline dress up to air-dry it. Do not use a hairdryer, clothes dryer, or any other heating device, as this could damage the fabric.
To make sure all stains are removed, apply a stain-removing product on the affected area, and let it sit for a few minutes before washing the item off.
As you can see, it is not difficult to clean adhesive tape stains from an Aline dress. Just make sure you follow the steps carefully, and your dress will look brand new again!
